Obsidian, a type of volcanic glass, forms when lava cools rapidly, preventing crystal growth. This process results in a smooth, shiny rock with sharp edges, historically used for tools like knives and arrowheads. Today, obsidian is highly valued for its use in meditation, energy work, and protection. It is believed to possess several metaphysical healing properties, such as:
- Absorbing negative energy, acting as a “psychic shield”
- Uncovering hidden truths, offering clarity
- Aiding in emotional healing by releasing past trauma
- Connecting you to Earth’s energy, promoting stability
